Launch of Light for Public Health Initiative
We are excited to announce the launch of the Light for Public Health Initiative, a global campaign turning decades of science into accessible, actionable guidance on how light impacts our health and well-being.
Our Principal Investigator, Prof Dr Manuel Spitschan serves as chair of this initiative, positioning the Translational Sensory and Circadian Neuroscience Unit at the forefront of efforts to bridge laboratory discoveries with real-world health applications.
This initiative was sparked by the Ladenburg Roundtable, where 21 international experts came together to build consensus and a path from research to real life. The result? 26 evidence-based statements, designed to help everyone from healthcare professionals and educators to urban planners and public health leaders put healthy lighting into practice.
The initiative represents a pivotal moment in translational science, transforming our understanding of light from a purely visual phenomenon into a powerful tool for promoting human health and well-being. We look forward to sharing developments as this important work progresses.
