Erasmus+ research visit by Dr. Altug Didikoglu (12–16 May 2025)
From 12 to 16 May 2025, we were delighted to welcome Dr. Altug Didikoglu, Assistant Professor at the Izmir Institute of Technology in Izmir, Turkey, for a research visit funded through the Erasmus+ programme.
During his stay, Dr. Didikoglu met with members of the Translational Sensory & Circadian Neuroscience Unit (MPS/TUM/ to discuss their individual research projects, and visited the facilities at the Max Plack Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen and Technical University of Munich (TUM). He received hands-on training with the LightLogR package, and engaged in detailed discussions around MeLiDos analysis plans, data structuring strategies, and light exposure metrics.
Dr. Didikoglu also gave a presentation about his own research and ongoing work, which stimulated a number of in-depth exchanges and new ideas. Together, we reviewed and refined protocols for real-world light exposure monitoring studies, and brainstormed a new study investigating the correlation between light exposure measured at different body positions. The visit concluded with concrete planning for future grant proposals and collaborative research. We thank Dr. Didikoglu for his inspiring visit and look forward to continued collaboration!
